Medipark Pictures: Medi-Park Eduphlog

Here are some pictures that I took at Medi-Park in Amarillo, Texas. Please disregard the date on the photos, as I took these pictures at the end of March. Enjoy and keep on learning!

In this picture, you are able to see a variety of the bird life that live at Medi-Park. These animals must compete with each other for their survival. Have you ever fed the ducks at Medi-Park? You will notice that if the ducks are hungry, they will compete for the bread. Some will snatch the bread out of another duck's mouth.

Competition occurs whenever two organisms require the same limited resource.

This is a goose. Did you know that female geese are referred to as geese, but male geese are referred to as gander?

This is a picture of cigarette butts. I found these in several areas of Medi-Park. It is sad to me that people would be as careless as to throw their litter in the grass.

Here are those pesky weeds called dandelions. Did you know that they close their flower heads at night?

Here, you can see a glimpse of the ecosystem at Medi-Park.
An ecosystem is a geographical area of a variable size where plants, animals, the landscape and the climate all interact together.

Of course, we all know that these are trees. We also know that trees are plants, not animals. Plants are living organisms that manufacture their own food through photosynthesis.
